Our Story
Nella Snacks: A Story of Natural Goodness
Our Beginnings & Spark of Inspiration
In 2024, four students brought together for an assignment thought about the kind of business they
would like to start. From nostalgic conversation came the idea to form Nela, an enterprise that would
produce and distribute healthier snacks. These would be a nourishing alternative to the snacks
dominating the Eswatini market. 'We all know at least one person with a noncommunicable disease,
now imagine if something you made could positively contribute to their health?' These words from
the leader Samantha sparked a fire in Gcinile, Sakhiseni and Bongeka. The name Nela comes from the
siSwati word kwenela which means enough. It embodies our belief that health is not about deprivation
but about finding balance.
Our Journey
With a small team of like-minded individuals, Nela began experimenting with different recipes and techniques. We focused on sourcing the highest quality ingredients, ensuring that each snack was free from artificial additives and preservatives. After months of dedication and hard work, Nela Snacks launched its first line of sun-dried and roasted products.
