Mtrios Wood Art is more than a business, it is a personal journey carved into every piece of timber. Founded by Michael Musa Mduduzi Bhembe, the name Mtrios is a tribute to his own identity, drawn from the three names that define him. Each “M” represents a layer of his story: Michael the visionary, Musa the craftsman, and Mduduzi the soul behind the art.
Raised in Hawane, Hhohho, Mduduzi grew up surrounded by the rhythm of chisels and the scent of freshly cut wood. His father and older brothers were craftsmen, and their legacy shaped his earliest memories. From a young age, he watched, learned, and eventually picked up the tools himself, not just to follow tradition, but to find his own voice.
Wood carving became his language. In moments of silence, it spoke for him. In times of hardship, it healed him. What began as a childhood passion grew into a lifelong calling. Through each sculpture, piece of furniture, and commissioned artwork, Mduduzi expresses not just creativity, but emotion, heritage, and hope.
