Our Story
“From Sweet Beginnings to Scented Success: The Story of a Liswati Fashionpreneur”
In the hills of Eswatini, a young girl once knocked on doors, her hands full of sweets and her heart full of ambition.
Her name is Thandeka Maziya, and though she was still in school, she had already discovered something powerful — the thrill of turning passion into profit. With every sweet sold, she wasn't just earning pocket money, she was planting the seeds of something greater.
When she left for tertiary studies, her love for business traveled with her. Always a lover of beautiful things — scarves, handbags, perfumes, and statement pieces — Thandeka started buying small items that caught her eye. Friends and classmates soon began to notice. “Where did you get that?” they'd ask. So she sold them what she loved — and just like that, a side hustle was born.
Her gift? She had taste. Not just fashionably, but in business too. She knew what women wanted before they did.
Life soon took a new turn. Thandeka got married and relocated to an Arabic country — a world of golden souks, flowing fabrics, and the rich, unforgettable scents of oud and musk. Surrounded by the fragrant magic of Arabian perfumery, inspiration struck again.
She began curating and selling Arabic perfumes back home in Eswatini. Women who had never set foot in Dubai or Doha were now walking through Mbabane and Manzini wrapped in exotic fragrances — all thanks to Thandeka.
But she wasn't done.
With her feet in two worlds and her eyes always open for opportunity, Thandeka saw a chance to go natural, local, and powerful. She launched her own brand: Luju Organic Honey — a tribute to nature, wellness, and Swazi roots. The honey wasn’t just delicious — it was award-winning. In a short time, Luju Honey bagged two trophies, a symbol of how far a little girl with sweets and a dream could go.
From doorsteps to runways, from campus dorms to international trade, Thandeka’s journey is more than a business story — it’s a celebration of passion, persistence, and purpose.
And the best part? She’s only just begun.
Seeing the importance of self-care and beauty from head to toe, she expanded her empire to include top-quality hair products — supplying some of the best hair bundles and wigs in Eswatini. Whether natural textures, sleek styles, or protective wigs, her products became known for their excellence and lasting beauty.
