Our Vision

By 2030, WITAD aims to be a national leader in women’s empowerment. Our vision includes:

  • Formalize 70% of the businesses WITAD supports
  • Link 50% of these businesses to export markets
  • Increase 50% of beneficiaries' personal income
  • Equip 2,000 women with digital, green, and leadership skills
  • Ensure at least 20% of our program beneficiaries are persons with disaibilities
  • At least 80% of community members - both rural and urban- will report a positive shift in attitudes toward gender equality, gender-based violence prevention, and sexual and reproductive health

We are committed to inclusive growth, engaging with women and diverse demographic groups across all contexts. Our approach promotes equity at every level, providing direct support to beneficiaries directly on the ground while also advocating at both community and policy level to help foster enabling environments in which women can thrive socially and economically.

    Who we are:

     

    Women in Trade and Development (WITAD)

    WITAD empowers marginalized girls and women in Eswatini to secure higher incomes and advance gender equality and sustainable development. Through a unique blend of training, business support services including mentorship, value chain integration and market linkages, WITAD fosters productive entrepreneurship. This enables girls and women to make informed choices, better manage sexual and reproductive health risks, address gender-based violence, and overcome decision-making inequalities effectively.

    Targeted Beneficiaries

    We prioritize marginalized girls and women in rural areas, including persons with disabilities, to ensure inclusivity and in addressing underserved populations.
