Our Story
ESTABLISHED
The Yellow Pharmacy was established in 2019, with its founding branch in Mankayane marking the
beginning of a deliberate effort to bring structured, professional pharmaceutical care to communities in
Eswatini. The chain has since expanded to three retail branches and one clinic, with a strategic target of reaching 10 branches by 2027/2028, including expansion into South Africa and Zimbabwe.
FOUNDING MOTIVATION
The Yellow Pharmacy was founded on a clear and purposeful mandate, to provide quality, evidence-based access to healthcare in communities that had historically been underserved. The founders recognised that
access to pharmaceutical care was not merely a commercial opportunity, but a critical gap in the healthcare ecosystem.
A particular emphasis was placed on the elderly, a population group that often faces the dual burden of complex chronic conditions and limited mobility. The Yellow Pharmacy was designed from the outset to offer these patients personalized chronic disease management, ensuring they receive not just medication, but
consistent, informed, and compassionate pharmaceutical care tailored to their individual health needs.
These values continue to define how The Yellow Pharmacy operates across all its branches today.
