ABOUT US
Mabuda Farm is a family business owned by Jonathan & Helen Pons. The farm has been in Helen's family since the 1930s, with Jonathan & Helen taking ownership in 1997.
The first coffee trees were planted at Mabuda in 1959 by Carl Todd. In 2010, Jonathan began to plant his own coffee orchards.
THE INSPIRATION:
1. A long overdue need for freshly roasted specialty-grade coffee in Eswatini
2. Career opportunities for young Emaswati HOW?
• Cultivation / Processing / Roasting / Consumption
• ALL taking place in Eswatini!
Our products are hosted in a historic Mabuda building lovingly named the Green Shed. In late 2020, the space was transformed into an industrial-chic roaster and cafe. The Green Shed is truly the heartbeat of the farm’s coffee production as well as home to our barista training facility.
